I believe your original schedule makes sense, unless you want to do brakes & suspension at the same time. It is very difficult to do the front suspension with the engine removed, since you need this

You are correct about doing suspension work without the lump in the engine room! I just replaced my front springs and all the attending bushes, seals, new nuts etc. with the motor out while waiting
