While you are tinkering with the carb, pull off the dashpot. If you look into the top of the carb with the dashpot off, you should be able to see the jet opening. If you now adjust the mixture screw

Dereck's carbs are HS4s. You must be referring to HIF4s. With the HS carb, you can see the top of the jet with the air cleaners off and the mixture adjustment is made with a nut, not a screw. (I wou
