I'm no B expert at all, but what is the battery voltage when cranking? I've seen cases where a bad battery (yes, I know it's "new") would put out enough current to crank the starter, but not enough

I presume it is cranking as you are looking for a spark but not getting one. A 79 should have one of the 'electronic' ignition systems and you mention the 45DE (sic). This was very fault-prone and a

If there's a spark at the coil but not at the plugs, the fault is in the distributor cap, rotor or high tension lead from the coil to the the cap. Not likely that all the plug wires are at fault. Why
