Ok, so we pulled the head. The gasket is and was correct. Water flows thru all the head holes. Water flows thru all the block holes. All the holes line up. We replaced the head with a known good one

What is the history of the radiator - It's not a 998cc Mini rad trying to cool a 1275cc Mini? Have you backflushed the radiator? Have you tried running a blanking sleeve and routing the coolant from

did you check to make sure the t-stat opens ? or even try running without it to see if that helps, I don't recommend running without one long term but if the B-stat does not open that will overheat y

I believe you may be looking at the wrong system. The water may be flowing fine, but if the oil pressure goes to zero, it will overheat. Oil circulation "cools" the engine as well. Check the pressur
