On my 77 Midget, the alternator is not charging. The warning lamp also is not working. From what I understand, 12V should go through the warning lamp to the brown/yellow wire on the alternator. Is th

You are correct, and it supplies initial excitation current to the alternator. Without this the alt may delay charging until revved to 2k or 3k, but on brand-new alts it may not charge at all. If you
