The alternator on my '77 B seems to have a problem. Rather than fix it again or pay $100 for a rebuilt unit, I was thinking about getting one of those $35 GM or Ford rebuilds with a lifetime warranty

I used a Bosch alternator from a 1980 Ford Fiesta (which had air conditioning). The non-a/c Fiestas had a Motorcraft alternator with external regulation. The Bosch variety has internal regulation and

About two years ago, I put a GM 63 amp alternator on my 79 MGB. It was around $40. I've had excellent results. Haven't had to call the tow truck since. I was able to make brackets out of thick metal
