As being an newbie to autox myself, I'd recommend you stick with street tires for a while. I found street tires speed up the learning curve and are much more forgiving when mistakes are made. (so you

well, i tend to disagree. i think it depends upon your car. for example, my vette has street tires that run $250+, whereas race kumho's run about $170. pretty easy choice. regards, charlie phx, az

As a relative newbie (about 2 years now) who insists on autoxing on street tires, I believe that this view expressed by Charlie is entirely understandable, but misses the point when advising a newbie

ok let me clarify something. my street tires have a tread ware of 420. they are nol season POS. when i attended the school last year i chewed off all of the edges running around 45psi/40ish f/b. this
