Chances are very good you don't have the right key. The lock is removable by removing two nuts through the inner boot panel reinforcement on the underside. Hard to see and do unless you sorta lay on

Chris The boot key is different from the door key. A couple things to try.... Remove the lock, on the back square shaft or somewhere out of plain site, there is a number, FS ???, I have a lot of keys

Many years ago I un-crimped them so I could swap the lock barrell so that I had a set of locks that all worked off one key - including the petrol cap. I subsequently re-crimped ok. Daniel1312 /// uns
