I use DOT4; whichever major brand is on sale at the time. I tend to stay away from the no-name/generic because of one bad expierence (non-lbc) that I think was brake fluid related. Not able to really

Cartel DOT 5 (Silicone), I just rebuilt the entire brake and clutch systems. Based on what I've read this appeared to be the way to go. So far no problems. H. Ward, Norwalk, CT. 59 TR3A TS54794-LO
