Greg, Not a bad thought but there is one minor flaw. (Don't ya just hate that phraze?!) The CV device by its design has the ability to deal with axial motion built into it. That's one of the things

Do cv joints support axial loads? If I'm not mistaken, the Spitfire relies on the axle itself to maintain lateral location, which would pull apart a cv joint if it couldn't retain the axle. It's a s

Pete-- I suppose it depends upon the construction of the cv joint--in most, the axle shaft does slide back and forth, to accommodate geometry changes. In that type, the axle is usually pinned or c-cl
