If I remember right SW = Switch side and CB = Contact Breaker side. I think that means the polarity of the car would be what is coming from the switch, and the oppisite out to the distrubutor. So on

Not quite right, Patton - CB = Contact Breaker (or points), which is the ground side of the circuit. For positive ground, CB is equivalent to "+". For negative ground, CB is equivalent to "-". Steve

The only thing that comes to mind is that you've mixed-up the wires going to the coil. One wire is from the ignition switch, it is hot when you turn the key to "start" or "run." If you have the wire

"CB" = Contact Breaker (i.e. points), "SW" = Switch (i.e. ignition switch). On a positive ground car, "+" should be wired to the points (which switch to ground), "-" to the ignition lead. bs -- ** B
