I am going to be renewing the wishbone bushings and am wondering about the best way to remove the springs? Should I do the long bolt method or can it be done using a hydralic jack? TIA, Jim 79 Midget

Either way will work, especially if the engine is still in the car. I've used the long bolt method, which is tedious. Others here have used the hydraulic jack method with good success. -=Chris Chris

You can do it either way. If you have excessive quantities of time and patience, go ahead and use the long bolts. If you don't, or if you still have the engine in place, use the jack. It is possible

It can be done with a jack, but I always felt more comfortable with the long bolt method. I eventually made up a press to do the job quicker. I used 2 long bolts, a 1"x1" crossbar with a hole through

Quickest easiest way is to jack up the car real high, remove the trunion bolt, fold down the A frame to the floor, stick your foot against the car's frame and pull the spring out by hand. going back
