I think I have one. Its about thirty years old. It is an Atlas lathe. These were rebadged as Craftsman for Sears. It has the gearbox you describe and has automatic feed. Mine came from the original o

That's a fair price. Not an outstanding price, but fair. The majority of Craftsman lathes were made by Atlas, which is out of business, but parts are still available through Clausing.

I had looked at a Craftsman lathe a few years back. The one I looked at had square weys rather than the conventional dovetail ways. You most likely want a lathe with dovetail ways because it will be
