I was wondering If anyone in the USA has gone to the trouble of making a dip stick gas guage. A few people in the UK have done this, but to convert the measurements is a pain. It would be helpful to

Yes, I made a dip stick several years ago... I use it every once in awhile to be sure I know how much fuel is in the tank. I calibrated it by driving until I was pretty sure the tank was nearly empty

If your fuel gauge is reading low, the FIRST thing I would check for is a sinking float. You could try to adjust the gauge but it would not solve the basic problem. Be forewarned that the wire on the
