I was trying to remove the drivers side dash on my 71 spit an it looks a littlel difficult. I felt around behind the dash and felt some small nuts that seem to be the ones to remove. Questions is how

Two nuts & the top left screw from the center piece. It's probably best to loosen the center panel completely to not stress the drivers panel as you are removing it.

Sorry, let me clarify: There are two nuts that hold the drivers side of the dash in place as well as a hook into the center dash piece. The top left screw of the center console goes through this hook
