Question for the List - I am planning on using a pair of SU HIF4 carbs with newly built 1380 in my Bugeye. Will be daily driver when finished (next summer?), lots of So Calif freeway driving. Engine

I think that head is going to be a little long for a 1380. Are you planning on the overhang to be in the front or back? I'd think it would interfere with the radiator in the front, and the battery co

Huh?? It took me a while to figure out your comments. Even measured head. Clarification - Head is a Longman GT6,made for A-series engines - Not a head from a GT6. Any comments re HIF4s? Jim Calif

The HIF carbs flow more air - size for size than the HS carbs. A single 1.75" SU is superior in almost all respects than a pair of 1.5" SUs - see Vizard for the technical explanation or just try it.

Daniel - thanks for reply. I am familiar with Vizard's book and airflow numbers with SUs and Webers. However, Vizard's comparisons are for HIF6 (1.75") against other SUs, including HS4 (1.5") BUT not
