Don't know what Bob Ragsdale did to make his "E", but I don't see any way to do it without an odd stroke (read: high $) crank. The other option is building a V-6 based motor. John Beckett

One advantage of using the V-6 as an "E" motor is the ability to build higher compression ratios. Our V-8 was way down on compression and therefore down on HP too. I believe there is another 75 to 10

Keith; In '75 there was a 262 Chevy with 2.100 rod bearings which could be offset ground to 2.00 and get you to 260 inches. How about an Olds Aroura? Not a chevy (good thing) and 4 valve twin cams. W

Rich and all, Let' s not forget Chevrolet's SECOND V 8 engine ( yes, SECOND, as their FIRST V 8 was offered in 1917 ! ) ...... those little 265" forerunners of the whole dynasty of Chev V 8 engines .
