The function of the EGR valve is to dilute the intake air/fuel mixture and lower the compustion temperatures at moderate throttle settings which lowers the production of oxides of nitrogen. Dave Mass

Have done about all I can to breathe functionality into my aging & corroded EGR valve for my '74 Spitfire, but I'm afraid it's had it... Anybody rebuild these things? Anybody know how to? Any suggest

on the subject of EGR valves, mine is functionless since the Weber DCOE manifold has no place to direct the exhaust gas, but can anyone explain the purported strategy of *lowering* combustion tempera

Hello Joe, in regard to the EGR lowering combustion temperature, IF I recall some decades-old chemistry correctly, the reason has to do with the air / fuel mix being exothermic, or heat-producing. No

Exhaust gas is burned, and essentially innert, especially as far as combustion is concerned. So buy injecting innert gas into the combustion chamber you dilute the combustable mixture, thereby slowi
