I have a red 4 blade fan on an early 948. It's just red, not orangish red, not maroonish red. basic red like a crayon would be best. This engine came out of a none stud car. Sorry I can't help more.

My Bugeye with engine #9C-U-H14193 has a four-bladed yellow fan - but the hub and square plate that goes over the fan blades are red. It appears to be a "red" red, not the same as the Cherry red the

Hi Rick: Michael Lupynec suggested that the red blades were seen up to around car no 14000, which will be very close to yours. Perhaps yours was originally all red, with the fan replaced at some time

Does anyone know why the color was changed from red to yellow? Could it have been that the yellow was easier to see, and thus prevented more people from losing fingers in the fan? Just curious. the
