- Hi all, My '59 Bugeye (with 948) backfire has been diagnosed as being the need for an exhaust header gasket. The car also needs an exhaust system, so I'm taking recommendations - what should I get? S

- I don't know how far Rumson is from Toms River, but I bet Frank may be able to better diagnose the backfire issue. If you are getting a backfire from a bad exhaust header, you must have a HUGE leak.

- Hello Lester, my understanding (which i got from Paul A.) is something like this... the three things it takes for fire (backfire too) are fuel, heat and air.. there is always unburnt fuel coming out
