- If it is still original wiring, brown wires are main feed from battery, no fuse no switch. It helps to keep a copy of the Lucas wire use colour code around. TeriAnn

- I believe it goes to the alternator, with some versions of the alternator. It's a remote sensing line for the internal regulator. Only some versions of the alternator had the sense input, so if your

- I'm not sure about the 76 but I seem to recall that the 74 had a separate brown wire to the alternator separate fromt he multi-pin connector. The wiring diagram in Dan Master's book (Do you have one?
