Last night I was bolting good old AN5L 35140 back together and ran into a little problem. The breather on the timing cover (1275) is in the way of the metal fan blades, by about 3/8 of an inch. I am

I was running that combination, downflow and 6-blade plastic fan. It did get close and I trimmed the plastic fan a little where it gets close to the breather. Can you move your engine back a little?

I believe you need to use the pulley from a 1275. I have a 1275 timing cover, pulley and plastic fan in my Bugeye with no clearance problem. In a later car you may need to trim the fan slightly but n
