I am im the process of reviving a 68 B that has been sitting for 7 years. Before going in to hibernation, I was using it as a daily driver and it was pretty well sorted out. In the interim, the maste

I don't see any reason to mess with the rotors at all. Surface rust on the swept area is not a problem -- brake pads are great at removing rust. You can always take a wire brush to the edges if you f

It is not a very difficult job in the broad scheme of things. The only slightly tricky part is setting the end float (a process much debated, but well documented in the archives, for sure). Pull the

In the workshop manual somewhere is minimum thickness allowed for the rotors. That is measured on the clean, rubbing surface. You don't need to be concerned about rust ridges on the unswept surface,

I have been looking for this spec. and have not found it in any workshop manuals. If anyone has, please let me know. New rotors supplied by Brembo are imprinted with "Min thickness 7.6mm or .30 inch

That is just about the stupidest spec I've ever read. After it has been ground once, how would you know what the original thickness was? Why don't they just spec it as a minimum total thickness, rath

I think you missed the point of the spec. Up to .040 inch can be ground off the original .350 to .340 inch. So when the disc needs to be ground to below .300 or .310 its time to replace the disc. Da
