When I calculated the frontal area of my Vette for my simulation software, I measured the TOTAL width (instead of track as book suggested) X height. Using the suggested formula (track width) I came

You are correct if the vette is a Coupe. The coupe has an indention in the roof to direct airflow over the car. The fixed roof is slightly higher as it is flat & the rag top, well, it's a rag top....
