on the later 1500 Midgets at least, the steel fuel line came like that from the factory, the two pieces connected by rubber pipe and clips. Presumably to make it easier to install ?

I bought a bulk roll of steel line at the parts store and flared my own fittings onto it so I could duplicate the original as close as possible. They store racks only go up to 60 inch, ask for a roll

Glad to see they are illegal somewhere, should be everywhere. Not just soft but they work harden and get brittle when used as brake lines, pressures are much less on a fuel line and it might be safe
