What is a good glue to use when installing under-hood insulation? I have had little success with convincing the material to stay put. My next guess would be contact cement..? It is going on a 1978 MG

I've had fairly good luck using 3M high strength spray adhesive. It's simple to use and seems to hold for a year or two. It would probably do better had I removed everything and cleaned it properly.

I use a 3M spray glue that is used to glue trim on cars. It comes in a spray can and I have glued lots of stuff to include a felt part that is affixed to the hood and rest on the radiator of my MGA.

I've used spray adhesive for similar areas as you can get 100% coverage but thinly. A previous attempt to use brush-on contact adhesive resulted in the small area I was trying to stick back becoming

I use the same (3M) and the nice part about it is as the under-hood insulation begins to sag or separate, I can just respray with the part holding on allowing me to keep its position easily.

Bill; One of the problems I encountered when installing the hood pad set on my 1980 MGB LE was retaining the pads in place as the glue dried. As soon as I would release them they would sag. I finally

You can use this same glue for the black covering that is located between the dash and windshield. It is similar to the 3M super 77, except it is made for high temps and it is very expensive. ______

The stuff I used was a 3M spray adhesive, high temperature variety. It wasn't terribly expensive - I think Moss sells it for about $15 for a can. I used it for the under hood insulation as well as fo
