The part that you see under the portico is just a small piece of the rock stepped upon in the first landing. The bulk of the rock has been covered over by a number of waterfront development projects

As it turns out, my house, ca. 1683, is on the site of the original grist mill. Beer making was one of the functions performed by the Pilgrim's grain grinder. BTW Tab, they also took 'u' out of it. I

Being an avid antique map collector I will presume to advise on the correct spelling. Just look on a map of the period. It will have the contemporary spelling. What happens after is anybody's guess.
