OK, so it's really summer here in the South, and that means HOT! And, my heater control valve (on the back end of the block) won't close down without leaking. I know, I know, I'm gonna buy a new one.

I never close the heater valve, every summer I run a longer hose from the valve to the return pipe. I then use a short pipe to join the two hoses from the heater core. From what I have read and my o

I second that. Also, at least for me, closing off the air supply suffices. If you don't have the big hose and flap installed, you can use a coffee can lid to close off the heater air inlet. Ulix Ulix
