I have a '67 TR 4A.... I put "WATER WETTER" in the radiator... and I noticed a marked improvement in the motor temp as viewed by the gauge... IMEDIATELY... my guage started to read visibily cooler...

Or the Voltage Stabilizer. Does the fuel gauge also read high... the needle moves pretty slow for the first half of the tank, and then dives for "E" in the second half? Then it's probably the voltage

Actually, I'd bet on the sender first, based on my experiences. As always, YMMV! And the engine itself. It's truly amazing what just probing around the block drain hole (with a stiff wire or similar)
