I had a similar situation with a car with the lisence bracket removed. The pump wouldn't work until the bracket was attached. I finally traced it back to an after market fuel pump, which was not int

I do know about the ground with the rear lights. I made a point of attaching this to the grounding point before starting the car. What caught me off guard was that, even with the ground wires firmly
