OK, so along with the blue smoke puzzle, I've got a dandy! Customer put in new clutch assembly after an engine swap of 948 to 1275 in a Bug Eye. Assembly all in and running, can't get clutch release.

I do not remeber the particulars without seeing the diferent parts, but I remember there are different configurations for the throw out bearings and clutch forks. Does the car still use the smoothcas

The throwout bearing is different for the 948 and the 1275. The 1275 throw out bearing from the pivot pins to the front of the bearing is longer on the 1275 because the 1275 pressure plate is shorte

They probably used the wrong engine plate. The 948 plate was very thin. If the 1275 plate was used it would move the tranny too far back.
