Don't want to make a recommendation. A point is the 2000 rulebook does call out that CAST aluminum flywheels are not allowed. This is an addition to the rule against CAST steel flywheels.

Hi Dan. I am surprised to hear that my good old Shiefer flywheel may be 'banned' by SCTA 2000 rules. I imagine it is cast aluminum. Could you define the terms a little more for us? As I understand it

Hello Bill, I can highly recommend the products of these two manufacturers . From 1961 to 1965, I used ( or should say ABUSED ) a Weber aluminum flywheel with a Scheifer Clutch setup on my 301" Chev

List; I have been running Schifer flywheels for some years and at the 1999 Bonneville Speed Week had a Weber Flywheel on my 392 powered 72 Vega. My question is has the SCTA noticed a rash of failures

Rich and list, At El Mirage this year Miler Mike Stewart had a CAST flywheel explode on his Model B motor. Where this unit came from I am not sure. A FORGED or BILLET flywheel is OK for use. Thanks t

The flywheel was definitely aluminum. There were three pie shaped segments still bolted to the crank flange, clutch cover and pressure plate all rolled up inside the scatter shield.
