Tony This is not an uncommon problem (meaning that I have got it too - between 9 and 3 where it is gripped most of the time). It is a rubber cover which appears to have been moulded around the frame

You probably won't want to do it, Tony......but, you could cover it with a lace up LEATHER (not an imitation one) cover. I've done it on damaged wheels.....looks and feels great. Bob Stalhbush 66 MGB

Would a leather cover solve the original problem of the rubber moulding slipping on the metal frame of the wheel? I suspect that the wheel needs to be rebuilt from the frame up! Trevor Jordan 74 TR6

Message text written by Trevor Jordan Right, I thought I would remove the rubber stuff and then go with the leather wrap on the core. Maybe the core is too small! That would be a major pain. I had th

I got my covers from Moss......one for my "B", and one for the TR. The ones I bought (they both have large steering wheels) were 15" or 15 1/2" I think. Check the size for your car.....they stretch

Good point, Trevor. I thought, though, that Tony's steering wheel had a small section that was coming loose from the spine. lf he could glue that section down, (contact cement or equivalent) he could

I have wanted to order the leather wheel cover you describe. However, I've been fearful of the cover not fitting on the stock TR3 steering wheel tight enough to not slip. It sounds, f rom what you s

I've used double stick tape (Scotch tape with adhesive on both sides) between the cover and the steering wheel on my non-LBC vehicles. Keeps them in place fairly well and when the wheel gets real hot

I think the core will be too small both to fit the standard leather wrapper and for comfort afterwards. The rubber stuff is quite a bit thicker than the leather. IMO, if you lace the cover tightly (
