When I bought my '78 Midget, the only key to the car I received was the one to start the car. Is there any way I can get the key to lock the doors without having to change the locks? Tom

Also, some can make one from the key number. The key/cylinder # is on each door tumbler (also trunk cylinder, if original should match the doors). Problem is you'll have to remove one of the lock to

You should be able to remove the lock cylinder from the door handle and take it to a locksmith. He should be able to make keys with the cylinder. Shouldn't cost a lot. I did this with a motorcycle o

For missing keys, there are 2 ways to go about fixing the problem. The correct way is to remove the lock from the panel, look on the back side for a number, on later (mid sixties and on) this should

And you may not even have to do any filing, since I swear BMC only made 2 or 3 different key combinations. Chances are, the key you try will work without modification!! Bob
