Use a stainless wire brush to clean both filler rods and area to be welded, just prior to welding, to remove aluminuim oxide, preheat and wire brush again, hold tig torch as close to 90 degree to the

I have also specified that the guys that weld for me use a helium/argon mix as well the helium will make the same amps 'hotter' so you can move a little quicker or so i am told from them. All i know
