I am going to replace my non O/D trans with an O/D trans on my 78 Spitfire. It looks like there are 2 different propeller shafts for O/D and non O/D. What is the difference? I know of several parts

Hey Dave, The difference is in the length. The O/D one is shorter (1"-2"???) then the standard one. This is to compensate for the longer box, which has the output flange closer to the diffy. Good Luc

When I did the swap to O/D in mine I just took my non-O/D driveshaft in and had them shorten it (I think only about 3/4" was needed for mine). They also balanced it while they had it, total bill was

The difference is in the length. So, if a pinch the non-OD shaft can be cut down to the correct length for an overdrive. Joe
