On my 2000, I mounted the sensor for a mechanical gauge in the water pump takeoff that normally pumps intake manifold water flow (which I don't use). Works fine. - Bob Mann, '68 2000 Solex

Mounting it in the water pump will show you the temperature of the water after it has gone through the radiator, so that won't be all that helpful. You won't be able to correlate that reading with an

Senders go bad. Did you try to replace the stock sender unit? You could bring your car to a mechanic with an infrared thermometer and they can take a reading off the elbow as well as check to see if
