I took an oil cooler off a '70 Midget to put on my '73. Dunno if it was "factory option", but it looked like it belonged there and the bolt holes were there. It fit ahead of the water radiator and be

My favourite place is mounted vertically alongside the radiator - you can use a short section of the heater tubing to direct air directly onto the cooler. Mike List, Would members of the List mind su

Putting an oil cooler in front of the radiator is a bad idea since you are reducing the radiator's effectiveness (if the hot air off the oil cooler then passes through the radiator) Mike

I had water temp problems on my ' 67 Midget vintage race car because of the oil cooler placement. When I built the car, I placed the 13 row oil cooler on two home made brackets above the sump where

I have seen oil coolers in front of radiators but I am not sure If I am comfortable with that idea. Doesn't it just block flow to the radiator? I was thinking of cutting a hole in the fan shroud\radi

I have mounted mine vertically alongside the radiator immediately behind the hole where the heater ducting fixes to. It gets good airflow and doesn't compromise radiator efficiency. A couple of home

Toby, I put mine in front of the radiator as shown and it keeps our car about 20* cooler. I don't know if it is the cooler oil that helps out but the radiator does not seem afffected by the placement

I don't think air cooled oil coolers are particularly sensitive to where they are sited on a Spridget, or perhaps even any car. I would think twice about a low mounting position (as you suggest) as t
