Theo, et Listers, For about the last twenty years I have had a remote dual oil filter mounted in the left fender well just below the headlamp. Until Dale did my restoration, I routed the two hoses th

If I read this right then the lines snake underneath the frame rail rearward of the crossmember mounting. Is that correct? My header setup routes all four of the left side primaries to the rear of t

Yes, that's correct Theo; the oil lines go down and under the frame rail, and then forward between the suspension mounting hardware and the inner fender well. And yes, my header primaries all go beh

Obviously, many believe the original set-up on the Tiger where the oil filer was mounted on the front of the motor, drivers side, is a better alternative for the reasons you note. All I can tell you

Allan, Brilliant idea, but for another reason. If there is excess heat affecting the rubber inside that pretty stainless braid (which can't carry a liquid without leaking) you would not know it until

Thanks Steve. Actually, ALL the hoses are rubber!! Yes, thanks to "space aged" research, the new Airquip lines are actually made out of rubber or a nylon/rubber/Teflon hybrid. And they are rated at 4

It's unlikely your engine would survive a 450 deg. oil, by what caused it, but there is always good old age, oxidation, chemical reaction, stress cracking, hardening of the "hoseries", and the heat

Believe you me Steve, if I did not have headers, I would have gone to the Motorsports block-mounted/angled adapter as opposed to the remote. Much more bullet-proof and a lot more trustworthy!! Regard

I just put on the Motorsport oil adapter, and with a little hammer, was able to fit the adapter on With Headers. It sure cleans up the oil line issue, either stock or remote in fender well. Don't hav

Please don't butcher your Tiger by drilling holes to mount your oil pressure line. Route your new SS line the way Rootes did. Up from the sending unit, through the original oil filter bracket, throug

You don't need to carry a brass plug, just some Yankee ingenuity. I used a pair of vise grips clamped tight on the broken line and duct-taped the whole mess to the oil filter. good for 300 miles. Ste
