Hi Hal, I use a blanking sleeve in the summer and do not bother to cap off the bypass hose, I just leave it in place. It works fine in the Davis summer heat. I only use the copper sandwich headgasket

Hi Hal, Retorque is always in order after at least a half dozen hot cold cycles of the engine. Retorque is also done with a back off on the nut at least a 1/4 turn and then redo to the specs. Rocker

Copper head gaskets are the only ones I have ever blown. So now I am a composite guy with no blown head gaskets. Copper is probably fine if you replace it often like on a race car. -- Frank Clarici T

Like Glen, I agree. But of the 6-8 head gaskets I have blown, or acquired engines with blown H/Gs all were copper. I have never had a problem with composites. But I do have an annoying coolant leak a
