If you are offended by the sight or thought of rubber bumpers, read no more! heh heh I painted my front bumper yesterday with the Plastikote 3-step process (adhesion promoter, primer, and top coat).

Great idea! I really like the silhouette of the RB's. Those horrid black rubber things are just plain ugly though. Let us know if you're successful in getting the paint to adhere. For handling, ease

On the winner's circle website.(www.spridgets.com I Think) they have a picture advertising a set of fender flares and the car has the bumpers painted red, like the body. It makes a nice looking car.

Hi Adrian, I think the thought of a RB Midget with a painted bumper is cool. The RV8, Modern Brit v8 MGB has a painted rubber bumper. My firebird of days gone by had one too. It lasted a long time. S

The car on the Winner's Circle website is a CB model. I can't remember the exact year. Anyway, that bumper is an add-on kit and isn't an original RB, it's fiberglass. But it looks interesting enough.

I have seen one of these - I liked the look; a lot like the modern color-keyed bumpers. The guy that did it, (Dave Wintz of New Life to Classics in Mankato, MN ) said he had to add something (yeah ai

You put what DuPont refers as "flex-additive" into the paint. Any paint jobber will carry it. I'm sure it is available for all modern paint systems. Now that almost every new car on the road has pain

I had a fiberglass spoiler painted years ago and the painter mixed something into the paint to keep it somewhat flexible even after it dried. Might be a good idea for -rubber- bumpers. Don't remember

The professional paint manufacturers do make special paints with some "flex factor" for just this purpose. I know at least they make a primer base and probably do it for color coat as well. These ar
