The other thing we noticed when looking at my funny rear springs was an oil seal leak at one of the rear wheels. The local experts explained the half shaft removal procedure - it sounded easy enough.

During a pre-license inspection of my B, I had oil on my shoes. The inspector said if I heated them up with a propane torch for a while, they would pass. I just replaced them, they are cheap. -- Trev

I still use the paper gasket. As for cleaning shoes/drums, I mostly use avgas (racing fuel). I know it is naughty of me (so spank me!) but it works *really* well and leaves no residue like normal pet
