Mine are originals and are of a silverish gray color, more of an "aluminum color"

Per the 2006 Concours standard - Shocks for BN1/2 are painted black all over. This is still up in the air (to be resolved this year?) for later Healeys. The shock bodies are either painted black or

Dan, et al, Neither the bodies nor the arms were painted on my BJ7 rear shocks. Somehow I doubt that anyone took them off and stripped them prior to my ownership. It hadn't been that well taken care

The shock arms on all series as nearly as can be determined were always finished in a black phosphate (dull black) finish. The shock bodies were generally always bare aluminum except for the Hundreds
