What would be the better front sway bar for a Bugeye that will likely be driven in a somewhat less than spirited manner? 5/8" or 9/16"? Or, is there any significant difference between the 2? I've be

One is thicker, therefore stiffer. Many people who drive in more spirited manners upgrade to thicker units. You can probably get a used stock unit for little or nothing and improve your handling som

Hello Peter, If your Bugeye is going to be driven in a "somewhat less than spirited manner" then the best sway bar would be none at all. Sway bars stiffen the ride of the car, the 5/8ths bar more tha

You'll feel the stiffness in the form of understeer characteristics. I don't think you'll feel much diff between the two, but I'd go twith 9/16 on a street car. ______________________________________

"then the best sway bar would be none at all" I agree. I used to do a lot of highway commuting and had a 3/4 bar which allowed for more excellent directional stability at speed(more initial understee

I always think you need to consider the front springs as well as the anti-roll bar. If you find the bar on the car does do as much as you want it to you you can always stiffen the action of it by usi

Actually anti roll bars or sway bars do very little to stiffen the ride of the car and even then they only do stiffen the ride if one front wheel has a really bumpy section of road to ride in while t

I'm running a 7/8" bar. Seems even too stiff for autocross. That coupled with Huffaker 500lb springs...that sucker is stiff!!! I'd go with one above stock, whatever size that is. Herb

Herb, I'd say go softer on springs and stay with the 7/8 bar for autocross. Peter, One above stock is what the grasshopper recommended!
