Phil, A stock engine in good condition will take 6000 rpm occasionally with no worries. What's the build of the engine? Stock? Factory build? street preped? Safe is whatever the engine is built for.

Every 1275 has a maximum RPM. This max is 1 revolution per minute BEFORE it self destructed. And it's not hard to find that magic number. It might cost you but it's easy enough to figure out. Anon
