The easy fix is a good 20/50 oil. A slightly harder yet still simple fix is a new oil pressure relief spring and a cleaning of the thimble valve (whatever it is, it looks like a thimble) And the wors

Frank gave you all the reasons for low oil pressure when hot except one. The rockers. This is easy to check, remove the valve cover when the engine is warm. Start the engine and if you have a little

20 psi at what rpm, Lester Ewing? Assuming an idle speed of 800rpm and 70F or so outside ambient temps, this is not abe-normal after a good, long run wherein the motor gets truly hot. What weight oil

Hello Lester, i have a 1098 that has the same kind of action... that is 75 lbs or thereabouts when cold at idle, .. i know the engine has completely warmed up when it goes to about 45 lbs at 3000 rpm

Correct dipstick. There is a raised flat spot on the floor of the 948 pan that the dipstick bottoms out on. I've never had the flat washer on any of my dipsticks, although it may have been there at o

45@3k is a little on the low side on a hot motor according to the book...you oughta be looking at 60@3k on a 948/1098 or a min of 55@3k on a 1275, assuming correct weight petroleum type oil for seas
