I think the "Common Wisdom", which seems to apply only about half the time, is that ball bearing throwouts (don't know if there is such a thing as a "roller" bearing throwout) are not meant to turn

An indicator of the problem here may be the solution that Doug come up with. His solution, which he details on his site, is to install a return spring on the through out arm that insures the bearing

Looking to the wear signs of the bearing coming from the old clutch kit, the graphite did not wear the same at all places. This means the pressure on the thowout bearing is not the same at every spot
