- Well I just received my 1 1/2" intake manifold for my 1500. And today I bought a pair of pretty good rebuildable HS6 SU carbs to bolt onto it. They probably have very few miles on them, relatively sp

- Hello DLancer7676, They 1 I assume that the blocks are to insulate the carbs from the heat of the intake manifold. I found that on a 1500 Midget that there is not much room for the blocks. As it is n

- INteresting. Could they be shaved down to about half thickness and still provide proper insulation? Or is the distance thing a factor as well? --David C.

- Hello DLancer7676, This is an interesting question. Are the blocks for there for heat reasons, and if so what happens as you reduce the thickness? I will leave this for a list who knows as I stated i

- Heat transfer-wise, distance makes a difference. Also thermal conductivity. Thinner will work, but the stabilized temperature of the carbs will be higher. Or you can make thinner ones from a better
