I thought needles were identified with alpha characters, ie: AN for a Sprite. Does the number you mention refer to the AUD number? Tim Collins 1966 AH Sprite

AUD467 (L&R) were the spec carbs for a 1971/72 Rover 3500 V8. Needles themselves are 'alpha/numeric' identified. Brian, please recheck I could not even find anything close.

I have an SU book from Brooklands Books that lists the needles in a AUD_1NNN nomenclature, where it looks like the entire series begins with AUD_1. AUD_1467 comes back to 1963-4 Jaguar HD8 triple set

At one time, there were a lot of after market repair kits for SU carbs. Most of them came with only numerical characters on the needles. Who knows what some of the "money saving" kits had in them! Go
