For my money, I'm going with a set of truck speaker boxes behind the seat. If they have a tweeter in the top, you can run them as full-range speakers and have pretty good sound. Add a cheap amp and

My answer to a good stereo in my first car was such: Speakers 6 1/2 inch JBL 3 way speakers with a generic grating so no-one can tell what brand they are. I think I bought the grating at radio shack.
